Supporting EAS Horses & Deepening Human-Horse Connection
At Withers and Wellness, I am committed to not only supporting the people who benefit from Equine-Assisted Services (EAS) but also the incredible horses who make these programs possible. As a Certified Masterson Method Equine Specialist (MMES), I offer workshops designed specifically for EAS facilities, their staff, volunteers, and clients, teaching how to use the Bladder Meridian Technique to enhance the well-being of EAS horses while creating a mindful, healing experience for humans.
The Masterson Method is a light-touch equine bodywork approach that focuses on helping horses release tension, improve relaxation, and enhance their overall comfort. Unlike traditional massage techniques, which are applied to the horse, the Masterson Method works with the horse, not on the horse. This technique engages the horse’s nervous system, allowing the horse to actively participate in the process by recognizing and releasing tension in a way that is comfortable and effective. This creates deeper connection and communication between horse and handler, improving trust and relaxation.
The Bladder Meridian Technique: A Simple Yet Powerful Tool
One of the most accessible techniques within the Masterson Method is the Bladder Meridian Technique, a gentle approach that involves following a specific pathway along the horse’s body to encourage relaxation and release. This technique is particularly beneficial for EAS horses, who often carry emotional and physical tension due to their important role in supporting people through therapy, coaching, and wellness programs.
