My mission is to help horses release deep-seated tension and find greater softness, comfort, and connection through attuned, interactive bodywork that works with the nervous system. By honoring the horse as an active participant in the process, I seek to create the safety and presence that allow the body to soften, movement to improve, and true ease to emerge from the inside out.
Helping horses find softness, comfort and connection from the inside out.
I’m Tina Peratino, founder of Withers and Wellness. I am an Advanced Student of the Masterson Method®, currently in the fieldwork phase of certification as an MMCP. I am also a certified Masterson Method Equine Specialist (MMES) and incorporate the MM Bladder Meridian Technique into my equine-assisted work to support relaxation, presence, and connection for both horse and human.
The Masterson Method is an interactive form of equine bodywork based on working with the horse, not on the horse. Using subtle touch and movement in a relaxed state, and working below the horse’s natural brace response, it helps the practitioner recognize the horse’s responses in order to find and release tension.
Unlike traditional massage, the Masterson Method works with the horse’s nervous system, and the horse actively participates in the process. Through timing, feel, and careful observation, it can help release deep-seated tension in key junctions of the body that affect posture, comfort, movement, and performance — areas often difficult to access through massage alone.
I am currently completing fieldwork and case studies and am in Block 1 of that process. If you are interested in having your horse participate, I would be honored to connect with you.
Owners who participate now as case studies will receive a lifetime discount on future bodywork sessions. Once I move into Block 2 and Block 3, sessions will carry a nominal fee.

This spring, I had the honor of traveling to Marion Therapeutic Riding Association (MTRA) in Ocala, Florida to lead a Withers and Wellness for Warriors workshop—an experience rooted in slowing down, being present, and offering care not just to people, but to the horses who serve them.
Supporting EAS Horses & Deepening Human-Horse Connection
At Withers and Wellness, I am committed to not only supporting the people who benefit from Equine-Assisted Services (EAS) but also the incredible horses who make these programs possible. As a Certified Masterson Method Equine Specialist (MMES), I offer workshops designed specifically for EAS facilities, their staff, volunteers, and clients, teaching how to use the Bladder Meridian Technique to enhance the well-being of EAS horses while creating a mindful, healing experience for humans.
The Masterson Method is a light-touch equine bodywork approach that focuses on helping horses release tension, improve relaxation, and enhance their overall comfort. Unlike traditional massage techniques, which are applied to the horse, the Masterson Method works with the horse, not on the horse. This technique engages the horse’s nervous system, allowing the horse to actively participate in the process by recognizing and releasing tension in a way that is comfortable and effective. This creates deeper connection and communication between horse and handler, improving trust and relaxation.
The Bladder Meridian Technique: A Simple Yet Powerful Tool
One of the most accessible techniques within the Masterson Method is the Bladder Meridian Technique, a gentle approach that involves following a specific pathway along the horse’s body to encourage relaxation and release. This technique is particularly beneficial for EAS horses, who often carry emotional and physical tension due to their important role in supporting people through therapy, coaching, and wellness programs.
Benefits for EAS Horses:
